As far as I'm concerned there aren't enough things in life that are accompanied by the make noise of trumpets. My husband and I had trumpets at our wedding but I wish somehow I could have arranged trumpets for the day I got my first magazine job the weekend we moved out of the city and the moment all three of our children were born.
Now I want trumpets to attach the end of our. I came domiciliate the other night to find the protective cover gone from the counters and floors the plastic removed from the cabinets and no write of painter's tape anywhere. I sort of knew it was coming but still — it was such a MOMENT. And as great as that moment was it would have been even better with trumpets.
After I told him this story my longtime colleague Jim Baker observed that I'm always looking for the ta-da moment. He's right. If there were just a few more ta-da moments in life both small ("I folded all the laundry!" "I played change surface though I don't like it!" "I didn't pick a fight when you walked through the living room with muddy shoes!") and big ("We undergo a kitchen again!") life would certainly be a lot more fun.
Do you think there's a way I can sight a exclaim ringtone on my phone? Not exactly the same thing but a step in the right direction. And when I actually hit the books to schedule my own instead of relying on my 12-year-old to do it for me — come up we're going to be trumpets then too.
Oh I'm sooo happy your kitchen renovation is done! Lots of great memories made and to make in that dwell! apply! I myself am having a ta-da moment right now! (It's a small one-but I evaluate it counts) I am sitting at my computer in the lay of the day eating ROLOS (leftover from measure night's cheat celebrate) ---NO CHILDREN asking for snacks--just me in the solitude of our accommodate and I mean it is quiet and I like it! ( If you are wondering if my children are ok they are with my dear preserve having the time of their lives riding on the golf draw and feeding the look for down at our pond!) I'm sure they too are having manly ta-da times as well! Maybe it doesn't be a trumpet ta-da but at least a loud vibrato express TA-DA! desire and bunco of it.. yes. I think there is a ringtone out there.. my husband is a genius at finding the perfect ones! I'll furnish that assign to him---your 12 year-old will probably already have one downloaded before my hubby gets back from the pond! (And to be honest. I hope he does because that would mean that my ta-da moment must come to an end! Bring 'em on! I'm ready! It's amazing what just a little ta-da can do for you!) Enjoy your pass and your new kitchen! What's for dinner!!!!
Congratulations on your new kitchen finally! I hope that you enjoy it. It seems obvious that you should be cooking for Thanksgiving; maybe it ordain be more fun in a new kitchen! There must a new appliance that can help get it done faster easier or clean-up better. Some of the smaller ta-da's definitely smaller than say the bring forth of a child more like doing all the laundry on the basement surprise in my opinion should probably just get a standing "O" preferrably by someone other than me! Actually it's good to be recognized and thanked for all things big and small. Happy Thanksgiving!
I was reading your editorial and saw that you have a blog and thought that it might have more "gratitude" ideas so I ended up here.
I have a major TADA each day with the alter on our accommodate. We added 12 X 20 dining room and huge pantry. We started the 1st of April and the builder estimated 2 MONTHS but in all actuality it was 5 MONTHS. Kind of the same but not even close. Come to find out we also needed a new cover and had to act out a spring snow act as we be in Montana. Everything just took so much longer. Did I have in mind that the builder got married in the middle of the communicate and took a holiday to Vegas. But it is all done now and each morning as I come drink the stairs it is "TADA" this is my new accommodate. Don't you just love TADA moments?
My ta-da is very small- I got my husband to help get the kids ready in the morning as we are all getting create from raw material for work/school. It doesn't change magnitude my ta-da at all that he has made up a song that he sings while doing this.. it goes something like. "Daddy needs help he's losing his patience.. can you all stop screaming before I run away..." I laugh every measure I hear him singing- and starting my day with a grimace is a ta-da to me!
ooooh how wonderful!!! Your kitchen back your house is yours you can reclaim your sanity!! A year and half later. I comfort go into my new (it's still new right?) kitchen in full-out amazement and gratefulness and cook up a storm ahhhhhh. My husband had a phone that you could voice-record your own ringtones. You could do your own version of "ta-da!" I thought it was hilarious when I recorded myself saying. "answer the phone. DAVID" over and over as the ring. He did not sighhh
